Tree-cutting shops may lose a city license to match new state law
The City Commission may take a final vote September 8, 2026, on Ordinance 26-08, which would change tree-licensing rules in the land development regulations, the city's code for lots and yards.
Senior Planner Patrick Doty is listed as the presenter. The agenda says the rewrite is to match recent state law.
Earlier discussion of the same ordinance said it would remove the city's tree-business licensing requirements, including related permitting and fees. The city is holding a public hearing to take off a license it had been requiring.
The commission may adopt the amendments that night.
The matter is set for 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 8, at City Hall, 2200 A1A South.
