Air is back on at 1 Clipper Court; the city still started a $100-a-day permit clock

The May 27 code board fined Pacifica Anastasia LLC $100 a day, starting at close of business that day, until the company obtains a mechanical permit for air-conditioning work at 1 Clipper Court.

Ferris said heat was restored within 24 hours and that charge was dropped. On April 8 the tenant sent a photo of the unit disconnected and sitting on the ground. The unit was back in place and working by the hearing. The tenant was satisfied with the cooling. Building Official Law said taking the unit off its lines required a new permit. He said a permit to install a new air-conditioning system at 1 Clipper Court was issued May 17, 2024, and closed out May 21, 2024. Nobody from Pacifica Anastasia appeared.

The board first talked about $50 a day. Schneider said $50 was not the correct amount and called for at least $100, citing unlicensed work. The city attorney had told the board to stick to the permit on the notice. The board voted 6–0 for $100 until the permit is in.
