Stormwater charge stayed on tax bills — the vote never named the amount

Article based on August 3, 2026 City Commission minutes, made available via city website ~Aug 8, 2026

ST. AUGUSTINE BEACH, Fla. — The City Commission on Aug. 3 renewed the stormwater charge in a bundled vote. No one read a dollar amount into the record.

The item rode through on consent: one motion, a second, all in favor, no one pulling it out for its own debate. Stormwater is not the property-tax rate. It is a separate line on the same bill.

The same meeting spent far longer on e-bike definitions and garbage reserves. Residents will learn the number from the notice the city mails, not from the vote.

The charge stays on the roll.
